Air taxi is a true point-to-point air travel system. There are over 10,000 general aviation airports and heliports available in the United States. The FAA estimates that 98% of the population lives within 20 miles of at least one general aviation airport.
An Air Taxi is a chartered aircraft to transport you and your staff or family between any two general aviation airports or heliports. Air Taxi aircraft are typically business jets, but can be helicopters and propeller-driven aircraft. Your schedule and needs will help define which aircraft types are best suited for each trip.
Most current business aircraft have between 6 and 20 seats. New technologies that will revolutionize the air taxi industry are allowing manufacturers to develop much more efficient aircraft with seating for 3-9 passengers. Before OpenTaxi, purchasing a charter meant purchasing all seats on the aircraft. Now, pay for all seats or just the ones you need. Vacant seats can be filled through our nationwide reservation systems.
Safety
Safety is the top priority in any aviation activity. Air taxi pilots receive the same high-quality, FAA certified training that airline pilots receive. Air taxi aircraft also often feature some of the most modern technology available and are usually a much younger fleet than most airlines. When possible, air taxi operations avoid major "hub" airports where air traffic is most congested and delays/additional fees are likely.
Privacy & Security
You can reserve an entire aircraft for your trip; only your staff will be on-board. You'll have the ability to enhance team productivity without compromising sensitive company information. If you need to purchase only a few seats other individuals may purchase the remaining seats. However, every passenger is positively identified before boarding.
Shareholder Value
For a business traveler, time is money. Time your next trip by airline or car and compare the time en-route with a customized trip booked here. Mission critical employees waste hundreds of workable hours per year just trying to get from one place to another. Just think of what your employees could do with all of that found time.
Convenience
Air Taxi travelers need to arrive only minutes before scheduled departure and they often park within a few hundred feet of the aircraft. Travelers are positively identified before boarding but there is no lengthy security procedure or check-in process. Typical taxi time is less than 5 minutes, and because we use smaller airports, take-off or gate delays are virtually non-existent. All baggage is placed directly on your aircraft and ground transportation is immediately available upon arrival.
Indirect Benefits
Some benefits of private air transportation are not easily quantifiable. Studies prove that employees are more productive while traveling by private aircraft. Employee esteem also increases as they perceive their value to the company to be higher. Employee morale increases as they spend less time at the mercy of airline schedules and more time home with their families. Happy employees are productive ones.
